In August 2010, the DePuy ASR hip replacements were recalled

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) December 04, 2012

The media spotlight is often a double-edged sword. No one knows this better than Louis Scaldini. And yet, gossip and rumor-mongering aside, the real story here is being overlooked according to Sean Burke of AttorneyOne.

According to court documents, on November 6th, 2012 Louis Scaldini filed a lawsuit in Texas Northern District Court (case no. 3:2012cv04469) alleging he suffered complications and pain from his De Puy Pinnacle hip implants. Plaintiff claims he had hip replacement surgeries in both hips in 2009. Shortly after he began experiencing pain and complications and had corrective surgeries in 2010 and 2012.

DePuy Orthopeadics, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, is facing more than 3,000 lawsuits alleging that the metal-on-metal Pinnacle hip replacement systems (multidistrict litigation MDL 2244, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas) were defectively designed. This lawsuit is now part of the MDL. In August 2010, the FDA announced that the DePuy ASR hip replacements were recalled.
