Heritage Salvage, with locations in Petaluma and San Francisco, takes the polish off and creates unique inviting environments for new establishments in Marin. Hopmonk Tavern Novato opened November 21st and Farmhouse Local Larkspur opens in January with reclaimed wood features designed and crafted by Heritage Salvage.

Heritage Salvage has been bringing its authentic natural look and feel to homes, businesses and restaurants across Marin since its inception. Whether removing Venetian polish, tranforming shiny chrome or adding patina’d wood, Heritage Salvage helps create beautiful sustainable environments.

"If our customers want a gorgeous high end look and feel, rustic country, or unique and quirky, we can design and create it for them, says Bug Deakin, owner Heritage Salvage. “Being inventive and creative is what we do.”

“After I signed the lease on the new building the first thing I did was call Bug to come in and figure out how we could take the polish off and warm up the place. Heritage Salvage is one of our key ingredients to the look and feel of Hopmonk Taverns,” shares Dean Biersch.

Heritage Salvage helped in transforming the polished Southern Pacific Smokehouse into a warm and inviting tavern, Hopmonk style, by designing, building and providing:

  •     Reclaimed wood flooring, 5 and 7 inch shiplap flooring sourced from grain elevators in Washington
  •     Bar tables and community tables handcrafted from old bleacher boards with custom metal inlays
  •     Bar handcrafted from bleacher wood with metal insert and back bar shelving from metal and glass
  •     Posts for trellis from reclaimed redwood 4x4s
  •     Reclaimed wood entry for music venue
  •     Fencing sourced from Idaho Grainery
  •     Chicken roosts repurposed into two lounge areas in beer garden

Farmhouse Local in Larkspur is also opening with patina’d features from Heritage Salvage. Tabletops are all hand crafted from recycled wood deck inserts. A magnificent community table is from a bay laurel slab sourced from Madrone Manor. Apple boxes from Sebastopol Orchard Coop will also be found as accents in the restaurant.

Owner Jeanine Samuel adds, "Heritage Salvage is a great local resource with amazing reclaimed woods and other finds coupled with fantastic craftsmanship and service."

Other notable restaurant and business customers in Marin County, include Mojotown Motorcycle Gears, San Rafael, Gathering Thyme, San Anselmo, Coyuchi in Pt. Reyes Station, Boca Pizzeria in Novato and Corte Madera, Bolinas 123 in Fairfax, March Aux Fleurs in Ross, Boo Koo and Roots Collaborative in Mill Valley.
