“With regulatory enforcement at historic levels, and clients adopting more robust measures to proactively address fraud, bribery and corruption risk, we continue to make strategic investments in our people,” said Brian Loughman.

Ernst & Young LLP today announced a number of new hires, promotions and leadership changes in its Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services (FIDS) practice. The firm’s investment in this area reflects significant growth in demand from clients and their external legal counsel, particularly in financial services, life sciences and the public sector.

“With regulatory enforcement at historic levels, and clients adopting more robust measures to proactively address fraud, bribery and corruption risk, we continue to make strategic investments in our people,” said Brian Loughman, FIDS Leader for Ernst & Young LLP. “Given that our clients are increasingly operating in higher risk, rapid growth markets, they are looking for practical insights that reflect on-the-ground experience. Our professionals are particularly adept at helping companies navigate these challenging markets, working closely with the global Ernst & Young FIDS network in some 60 countries.”

Partner SanDee Priser has rejoined the US firm, to be based in New Jersey, after more than three years in Germany and Russia leading investigative and technology teams.

Additionally, Chris Costa returns to New York after four years in the UK where he will continue to serve the global organization while helping further strengthen the US firm’s practice.

Matt Jadacki has joined as an executive director in the firm’s Washington, DC office to build out a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) claims practice that will complement the FIDS Insurance Claims Services’ existing offerings.

Beth Junell has joined as a partner in the firm’s Dallas, TX office to expand its fraud and investigations practice. She has 20 years’ experience advising clients in major investigations and related remediation and compliance efforts, as well as work on high-profile monitorships and compliance matters.

Promotions include Tom Pannell (Media & Entertainment) and Stephen Ross (Financial Services) to partner, Brian Browne (Real Estate & Construction) and Vincent Hom (Life Sciences) to executive director and Patrick O’Connor (FIDS Business Development Leader) to director; all in New York. In Chicago, Miles Ripley (Consumer Products & Industrial) and Heidi Stenberg (Forensic Technology & Discovery Services) have both been promoted to principal, and in Philadelphia, Karen Makara (Life Sciences) was promoted to executive director.

The FIDS practices of Ernst & Young in South America are also growing rapidly with Marlon Jabbur and Liudmila Riano promoted to principal in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Bogota, Colombia, respectively. Additionally, partners Andrea Rey and Jhon Ruiz are taking FIDS area leadership roles in Ernst & Young in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Caracas, Venezuela, respectively.

“We are seeing significant growth in the variety of Ernst & Young’s service offerings throughout the Americas and abroad,” Loughman added. “Our team of established and emerging leaders is now in a better position to meet the needs of existing and potential clients regardless of the industry or business challenge.”
