Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 06, 2012
It’s time to start thinking about New Years Eve plans to really get something special on the books this year. After making it past 12/21/12, every Chicago Traveler deserves a celebration with someone they love to start 2013 off the right way! Planning a romantic evening doesn’t come easy to everyone, especially when traveling for the holidays. ChicagoTraveler.com has 5 suggestions for the most romantic New Years Eve celebrations this year.
Romantic Dinner Cruise
A New Year’s Eve Fireworks Champagne Dinner Cruise is by far the number one choice. There's no better way to spice up the romance in Chicago than on an elegant cruise, traveling along the beautifully lit Chicago skyline until the Navy Pier fireworks commence. Chicago dinner cruises set the tone for an elaborate and romantic evening, and once dinner is over, the champagne starts flowing and people hit the dance floor as the live band brings in the New Year. Watch the beautiful Navy Pier fireworks light up the sky at midnight from the heated deck of a luxury yacht! Right now, select NYE Dinner Cruises are 15% off!
Navy Pier Fireworks
Some Chicago travelers can do without the cruise on NYE. Watch the Navy Pier Fireworks from land at any of the nearby restaurants with a view or even while strolling around Navy Pier. It can be a little chilly in the winter, so many hotels also have a view of the fireworks. Sofitel Chicago Water Tower has rooms with outstanding views of the fireworks and nearby lakes. Bring in the New Year without even getting out of bed! Don’t forget the champagne and strawberries before pulling the sheets up though.
Horse Drawn Carriage
Carriage Rides down Michigan Ave are offered daily after 7pm, and make for an enchanting way to spend the evening before the New Year. The streets are beautifully lit with Christmas lights and last from 30 minutes to an hour. A horse-drawn buggy in the evening winter hours makes for a cozy excuse to snuggle up with a loved one. MileNorth Chicago Hotel offers a complimentary 45 minute carriage ride in their romance package, which also includes champagne, homemade sweets and hand-blown Tiffany glasses to take home.
An Evening With a View
The Signature Room at the 95th hosts a New Year's Eve celebration until 1am this year. Located on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Observatory, diners will enjoy a decadent dinner with an unmatched view of Chicago. The early evening dinner menu features a 3-course meal for $100 a person. The second option is a later dinner featuring a 6-course gourmet meal. After the meal there will be a black tie event complete with a balloon-drop at midnight and dancing at NEO until 1am. The Signature Lounge on the 96th floor is also hosting a NYE celebration that’s a bit more lively than the dinner. There’s a $25 cover at 6pm, but the cover includes the first cocktail. Already have plans for midnight? Ride up to the John Hancock Observatory beforehand for an unbeatable view of Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois.
The Most Romantic Restaurant in Chicago
Every year, New Years Eve at Geja’s Cafe is an unforgettably romantic event. There are 3 dining options, at 5pm, 7pm and 10pm. A 4-course Fondue dinner with champagne and sweet guitar melodies playing in the background makes for the perfect last meal of the year. Of course the 10pm dinner ends with a countdown to midnight and a champagne toast.
New Years Eve makes for the perfect occasion this winter to turn up the heat and put on the charm. Every girl deserves at least one romantic NYE in her life, and there’s no year like the present with all these romantic happenings in Chicago!
