Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) December 06, 2012
Corona Labs, the world leader in mobile app development, today announces the appointment of Perry Clarke as Vice President of Engineering. In this role, Clarke will be responsible for leading the Corona Labs engineering team in the development of the Corona SDK platform and future products.
Clarke brings over 25 years of engineering and management experience to Corona Labs. Previously, he was a founding member and VP of Engineering at BitGravity, a content delivery network and subsidiary of Tata Communications, where he built the engineering team from the ground up. Prior to BitGravity, Clarke founded Konfabulator, a platform that spawned the desktop widgets craze and was acquired by Yahoo!. Konfabulator’s ability to enable rapid application development served as an inspiration for Apple’s own Dashboard widget engine on Mac OS X. Clarke’s past experience also includes managing software engineering teams at Sun Microsystems.
“We are extremely excited to have Perry on board,” says Walter Luh, CEO of Corona Labs. “Perry has had trailblazing experiences in creating both app and cloud platforms as well as a keen understanding of indie developer communities. With Perry as our new VP of Engineering, Corona will have an even bigger impact on mobile development worldwide.”
