At this time of year, there can be high demand for good quality properties
St John's Wood, London (PRWEB UK) 5 December 2012
The increasing demand for property in the capital has been demonstrated by Anscombe & Ringland estate agents who recently completed a sale in the highly desirable St John’s Wood area within 24 hours.
The property in question was a 4 bedroom period villa on Circus Road, moments from St John’s Wood Underground Station, covering over 2000 sq ft, with parking for several cars.
“At this time of year, there can be high demand for good quality properties and when the purchasers heard that there was interest from other potential buyers on the Friday morning, they asked if they could make an offer and try to exchange that day” said Dean Whitley, Associate Director at the St John’s Wood branch of estate agents Anscombe & Ringland.
The offer was accepted by the seller and the team at Anscombe & Ringland sprang into action liaising with solicitors to have contracts exchanged before 7pm the same day.
Whilst the rest of the England has seen a steep decline in the property market, London properties are defying this trend. Data from Rightmove’s price index show that the average property prices in Greater London are increasing month on month, with October to November 2012 seeing a 1.2% increase, whilst all other regions in England have seen an average decrease of 3.6%.
The average price for properties in the London borough of Westminster, which includes St John’s Wood, is £1,453,711. The St John’s Wood property which sold in 24 hours was on the market for £3,650,000.
