The conversion will allow Trinity Valley to take full advantage of the intuitive nature of Windows versus VMS and to benefit from all the new, exciting applications which are developed by Survalent on the Windows platform.
MISSISSAUGA, ON (PRWEB) December 11, 2012
Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative, Texas.
Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative (TVEC) is an electric distribution cooperative serving more than 50,000 meters. TVEC is an electric power system that is owned and controlled by the people it serves. It is chartered by the state of Texas and provides electric service to members in the northeastern Texan counties of Anderson, Dallas, Henderson, Hunt, Kaufman and Van Zandt. As an electric cooperative, TVEC is operated on a nonprofit basis.
The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, Command Sequence, Event Data Recording, IED Wizard and Control Panel, SCADA Add-In, Remote Alarm Annunciation, Master/Slave Alarm Suppression, Operations and Outages Accounting, SCADA Replicator, Power Factor Control, MultiSpeak, and WebSurv.
“We welcome the decision made by Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative to change the architecture of their system from OpenVMS to an integrated Windows-based architecture,” states Mike Roth, Vice President of Sales for the Central United States. “The conversion will allow Trinity Valley to take full advantage of the intuitive nature of Windows versus VMS and to benefit from all the new, exciting applications which are developed by Survalent on the Windows platform.”
