. . . we continue to realize that the PediaStaff social media presence has become known as the go-to source not only for pediatric therapy jobs but also for news and information within the pediatric therapy community.

Recruiting firm PediaStaff maintained two popular booths at the recent American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Convention held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

PediaStaff is a nationwide, niche-oriented staffing company that focuses on the placement and staffing of pediatric and school-based clinicians. In addition to their traditional booth, where they discussed pediatric and school-based careers with Speech-Language Pathologists, the firm held social media sessions at their second booth titled “The PediaStaff Social Media Learning Center, Featuring the #SLPeeps.”

“We had over 1,400 people stop by the PediaStaff booths at ASHA,” said PediaStaff Vice President of Recruitment Keith Adams. “Based on feedback from show participants we continue to realize that the PediaStaff social media presence has become known as the go-to source not only for pediatric therapy jobs but also for news and information within the pediatric therapy community.”

Over the past few years, PediaStaff has built an extensive social media presence, including a Pinterest site that has recently been rated as the #1 education-related site on Pinterest worldwide. With the help of a community of speech-language pathologists who post on Twitter under the hashtag #SLPeeps, PediaStaff used its social media booth to share their expertise with the therapists to help them enhance their careers. The firm also sponsored a Learning Lab titled “Cutting Through the Hype, Essential Social Media Tools for SLPs.”

"Pediastaff provided a well organized, extensive resource for people wanting to learn about social media,” said Mai Ling Chan of YappGuru, which reviews mobile apps that target language and learning. “This included traditional written information, learning labs and hands-on, step-by-step guidance provided by members of the Twitter #SLPeeps community."

PediaStaff had 15 representatives working the two booths, including two members of the Top Echelon® Contracting team, Contract Staffing Administrator Tammi Shields and Human Resources Manager Diane Marzec. PediaStaff places all of its contract therapists through TEC, which becomes the legal W-2 Employer of Record for the contractors.

“It’s great being partnered with them because they are out there with all of this quality content and have really established themselves as the expert in their field,” Marzec said. “We could all learn a lot from what they have done from a social media standpoint.”
