Brentwood-based periodontists Dr. Alexandre Amir Aalam and Dr. Alina Krivitsky will be hosting the complimentary symposium, Gum Recession, Periodontal Disease and Dental Implants, on Thursday, December 13th at The Olympic Collection in West Los Angeles.

Proper oral health is not only critical to keeping teeth healthy and attractive but also to preventing serious health conditions like heart disease and diabetes from striking later in life. For these reasons, Drs. Aalam and Krivitsky of the CENTER for Advanced Periodontal & Implant Therapy are thrilled to be hosting a complimentary educational seminar on gum recession, periodontal disease and dental implants. The periodontal team understand that oral health problems can be uncomfortable for people, however their goals are to promote painless and gentle in-office procedures. Their efforts are focused on compassionate one-on-one periodontal care in a relaxing and spa-like environment.

Dr. Aalam and Dr. Krivitsky are committed to providing each new patient with an in-depth initial consultation to discuss personalized needs and goals and answer any questions. The doctors will then provide patients with their thorough recommendations and diagnosis as well as their full support through any treatment process.

Both Dr. Aalam and Dr. Krivitsky believe in educating patients about the importance of gum and periodontal health. “Studies indicate that 90 percent of Americans experience gum recession while a frightening 50 percent of the population suffers from gum disease,” says Dr. Aalam. “Dr. Krivitsky and I believe in educating people about oral health and letting them know that personalized treatment options exist”

The seminar, which will be held at the Olympic Collection in West LA, will include invaluable information about identifying gum recession and other symptoms of periodontal disease.

“Patients today have a number of options when it comes to treating gum recession and periodontal disease,” says Dr. Krivitsky, a specialist in soft and hard tissue augmentation procedures. Depending on the severity of the gum recession, the periodontist may recommend gum grafts or gum lifts to correct the problem. In addition to restoring symmetry to the gum line, grafts can reduce root sensitivity and help prevent further recession.

The doctors will also speak about the benefits of dental implants to replace missing teeth. Dr. Aalam, who specializes in dental implants, believes that implants can not only raise one's self-esteem and confidence, but they also have a profound impact on a patient's quality of life. "Clearly the aesthetic of having a beautiful, complete smile is life-changing, but implants can also improve speech and comfort while eating," said Dr. Aalam. “For those individuals with missing teeth, dental implants are a great way to restore functionality with attractive, natural-looking teeth.”

The seminar will be held at the Olympic Connection at 11301 Olympic Blvd in West Los Angeles on Thursday, December 13th, and will run from 5:30 to 6:30pm. After the symposium, Drs. Aalam and Krivitsky will host a brief Q&A session with complimentary hors d'oeuvres. If you are interested in attending the seminar, please RSVP by calling 310-826-8242 or emailing info(at)implantperiocenter(dot)com.
