Edifecs Inc. ranks #1 in job creation for Washington state over the past three years.

Today, Edifecs, Inc., a leading healthcare software provider specializing in regulatory compliance solutions for healthcare providers and health plans, was recognized in the inaugural ranking of Inc.’s Hire Power Awards, which honors the private businesses that have generated the most jobs nationwide in the past three years. The award recognizes top job creators by multiple categories: nationally, by state, industry, revenue or growth percentage.

Edifecs generated 145 jobs in the U.S. from 2008 to 2011, placing it first among the top 10 private business job creators within the state of Washington. Today, Edifecs employs more than 200 people in the United States and more than 400 people worldwide.

Edifecs software solutions help healthcare organizations improve operational performance by streamlining the exchange of administrative information among health plans, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations, while enabling compliance with current government mandates such as HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10.

More than 250 healthcare organizations rely on Edifecs software, including 46 Blue plan health insurers, 47 commercial health insurers, 31 state Medicaid organizations and 71 healthcare providers nationwide. Together, Edifecs customers provide health coverage to more than one-third of the population of the United States.

“Healthcare is a critical component of the U.S. economy, particularly in the need to keep spiraling costs from dragging down business growth, but also in how the industry is providing thousands of good-paying jobs at a time when other industries are pulling back,” said Sunny Singh, CEO of Edifecs. “It is an honor to be an Inc. Hire Power Award recipient because we recognize that entrepreneurs are at the heart of American business and job growth. Edifecs is a perfect example of how private, mid-size companies have bucked the downward economic trend over the last few years by aggressively hiring to meet fast-growing business needs.”

The inaugural Inc. Hire Power Awards, sponsored by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, celebrates private companies on the forefront of American job creation, giving these businesses the recognition they deserve. Prior to this award, Singh received a 2011 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Pacific Northwest.

“The top 100 companies on the list have created 73,032 American jobs in the three-year period from 2008 to 2011 – an amazing feat, given that much of that job growth came during the heart of the recession,” explains Inc. editor-in-chief Eric Schurenberg. “And it isn’t just the big guys that are adding jobs. Companies with less than $50 million in annual revenue make up nearly one-third of the Hire Power list.”

Inc., the only major business media brand aimed solely at CEOs of fast-growing private companies, will highlight the results of the Hire Power Awards in Inc.’s December/January issue, as well as the brand’s web site, http://www.inc.com.
