Adventure Skiers Love the Powder found only at Ski Cooper's Chicago Ridge

The fact that we can work with Colorado's Ski Cooper Resort to provide this bucket-list experience affordably is incredible.

Ski Cooper and Tennessee Pass Nordic Center & Cookhouse announced today their partnership to provide a unique Colorado ski experience with their Ski & Stay travel and vacation package. The new package combines a full day of snowcat skiing followed by an evening of fine dining and backcountry sleep yurt accommodations for as little as $413 per person. “This is truly a unique offering for those who love Colorado’s snow country,” said Ski Cooper Marketing Manager Bob Casey. “We are excited to work with Tennessee Pass to make this once-in-a-lifetime experience available.”

Unique in its own right, Chicago Ridge snow cat skiing and snowboarding tours are a way to take Colorado riding experience to another level. Guided snowcat tours take up to 12 people per day to Chicago Ridge in the San Isabel and White River National Forests. With an annual snowfall of 260” and skiing at elevations up to 12,600 ft., this area has long runs and long-lasting powder. Adventure travelers then head to the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center, Sleep Yurts and Cookhouse.

One of the best kept secrets in Colorado’s high country, the Tennessee Pass Cookhouse is a large yurt outfitted with toasty wood-fire heart, propane-fired commercial stoves and ovens, and rustically elegant décor to cook up one of the most enchanting mountain dining experiences. Lucky Ski & Stay Package guests will dine on a four-course prix fixe menu of specialties like wild Alaskan cedar-plank wild salmon, tender prime cuts of succulent elk and lamb, and innovative vegetarian options paired with creative soups, salads and home-style desserts, and accompanied by a thoughtfully diverse wine list. With only 38 guests per seating, it is an intimate and extraordinary dining experience.

“Our huts really provide the most unique mountain lodging experience that you can’t get anywhere else,” said Tennessee Pass owner Ty Hall. “The combination of the snowcat tour plus gourmet dining plus luxury accommodations here is not found at the big Colorado ski resorts with big resort prices. The fact that we can offer this bucket-list experience is incredible.”

Adjacent to the Cookhouse is new the Tennessee Pass Sleep Yurts that provide a comfortable way to sleep under the stars after a rigorous day of skiing and fine dining. These well-appointed yurts have handcrafted log beds with down comforters, kitchenette, and a woodstove. Guests may bring a bag and food items or other supplies in coolers, and beer and wine delivery from the cookhouse is available.

The Ski & Stay package promises to be one of the most memorable experiences of any Colorado vacation. For more information or to book a reservation, contact Ski Cooper at (719) 486-2247 x109 or email rbrandau(at)skicooper(dot)com.
