UBIC North America, Inc., a provider of full-spectrum eDiscovery and digital forensics solutions and services for corporations and law firms, has announced version 5.5 of its Lit i View ™ eDiscovery solution, which accurately handles English and Asian-language characters, encoding schemes and native file systems.
The new Lit i View v5.5 features fall broadly into three categories - performance improvement for work processes, cost reduction and better QoR (Quality of Results). These features are intended to add significant value to our eDiscovery offerings.
“UBIC remains firmly committed to developing and investing in technologies in order to accommodate our customers’ requirements with automated, user-friendly versions of Lit i View,” said UBIC North America, Inc.’s President and COO, Mr. Naritomo Ikeue. “Our goal is to provide advanced eDiscovery solutions beneficial to our clients for both their preventive and litigation legal strategies.”
Summary of Lit i View v5.5 Features:
Clustering: In Lit i View v5.5, the clustering feature identifies, extracts and groups together documents with same or similar text. It features high-precision classification capability in both English and Asian-languages. This function enables expediting of review process while reducing the cost of review, the most expensive and labor-intensive eDiscovery process
Job Controller: This new functionality in v5.5 makes it possible to schedule and automatically execute culling processes, reducing manual work by users, speeding up the culling process and reducing errors.
Batch Workflow: This feature aids in review process by setting up workflows in advance for batching the documents. Automating the process of creating batches and distributing for 1st review in addition to quality checks enables smoother document transfers between processes and tracking progress. Internal tests have corroborated work efficiency improvement by 20% compared to previous versions without this function (with manual process).
Predictive Coding: Lit i View v5.5 also incorporates the predictive coding function of v5.0, which enables the automated identification of relevant text in Asian-languages, reducing the number of steps in the review process and thereby providing significant savings in time and cost of document review. UBIC’s predictive coding algorithms use machine learning technology to leverage the intelligence of expert reviewers.
