Gary Martin Hays, Mary Ellen Fulkus and Adam Weart are seen here with their new book "The Authority On Child Safety"

We believe knowledge is the ultimate defense. If we do not know HOW to avoid a dangerous situation, or recognize WHEN we are in a dangerous situation, then we are vulnerable.

The Authority On™ Child Safety: How To Talk To Your Kids About Their Personal Safety Without Scaring Them, an e-book co-authored by nationally-recognized child safety advocate and founder of Keep Georgia Safe, Gary Martin Hays, serves as a starting point for parents on how to talk with their children about the reality of personal safety awareness.

“We can’t be with our children 24/7, so they must be equipped with the skills to protect themselves,” says Hays, personal injury attorney and father of three daughters, “unfortunately in the world we live in, the conversation about bullying, unwanted touch and even abduction must be discussed with our kids.”

The Authority On™ Child Safety: How To Talk To Your Kids About Their Personal Safety Without Scaring Them, co-authored by social media specialist and child safety advocate Adam Weart and Keep Georgia Safe executive director Mary Ellen Fulkus, is a blueprint to help parents with discussions such as:

  •     If your child was approached on the playground by a stranger and asked if he could help find a lost puppy, what would he do?
  •     If you and your daughter became separated in the mall, what would she do?
  •     If your home catches on fire in the middle of the night, would your children know what to do?
  •     If a relative or family friend touches your child inappropriately, will she tell you?
  •     If he is being bullied in the bathroom at school or on the bus, what should he do?
  •     If someone says something ugly about her on Facebook, what should she do?

The book can be purchased for $5.99 on Amazon.com in eBook format HERE

All proceeds from the sale of The Authority on Child Safety: How To Talk To Your Kids About Their Personal Safety Without Scaring Them will go directly to fund “Let’s Protect Our Kids,” a project of Keep Georgia Safe. The mission of Keep Georgia Safe, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is to provide safety education and crime prevention training for Georgia families and law enforcement.
