According to a co-sponsored poll by The NPD Group, Inc., a global information company, and CivicScience, a big data survey research company, it’s a tie between consumers that have already started holiday shopping and those that have not (41 percent) while 18 percent said that they will not do any holiday shopping this year.
Only 15 percent of consumers have completed theirs. The majority of consumers (39 percent) began shopping immediately following post-Black Friday weekend while 21 percent of consumers resumed or will resume shopping one to three weeks later.
“The positive news is with the majority of consumers still on the search for that perfect holiday gift, there is still plenty of gas left in the tank to fuel a strong holiday,” said Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst, The NPD Group, Inc.
