EPS is not an inherently a flame propagating material and when exposed to flame, the SSIP produces far less off-gassing than treated lumber. Steel SIP construction provides safety and security with highest seismic rating available from the state of California. The ThermaSteel SIP building system provides superior safety, security, durability, and value. As a result, ThermaSteel SSIP structures typically cost less to insure.

SSIPs provide protection against problems associated with traditional wood construction including mold, mildew, off-gassing and insects. Buildings using a ThermaSteel envelope also have lower maintenance costs than traditional wood homes, and are built for generations, not just decades.
