Types of software that will open file extension BUP and IFO.

File extension BUP and IFO are similar in that they contain information which instructs a DVD player what to do at startup, where each chapter is located on the DVD, and where audio tracks are located on the disk. Because it seems like both file extensions contain the same data, it can be puzzling to try and differentiate between the two file extensions.

Although file extension BUP and IFO contain basically the same type of data, the main difference between the two extensions is one is the original file while the other acts as a backup file. File extension IFO is the original file and BUP is the file you can access in the event the IFO file cannot be opened or read.
