New Jamaican recording artist, VhanDiva is making her mark internationally in the US, Europe, and at home with mad style, curves, fun and Diva appeal.
She is quickly learning how to deal with being under the Diva spotlight, microscope, and rumor mill. "I respect and love what Beyonce has done for female artists around the world. She’s a true Diva that has opened doors for other artists and myself. While there have been rumors in Jamaica about Beyonce signing me as her first artist out of the island, it has been pure rumors. By all means I would welcome the opportunity. But as far as me and my management team goes, Beyonce nor her camp has not reached out to us in this regard,” according to VhanDiva.
Vhandiva has just released her single and music video ‘Pack Yuh Tings’ in Jamaica that’s getting major airplay on local stations such as Hype and RE TV and she is working on getting more features. "We’re looking to get the song on all of the major radio stations, and so far, it’s a good look.” Vhandiva stated. As to which label will she sign with, she says “that’s totally up to my Manager Keyboard Money Mike.”
Keyboard Money Mike is one of Hip Hop’s Pioneers who has worked with artists like LL Cool J, KRS One, Doug E. Fresh, Fat Joe, Jadakiss and many others.
Brooklyn West Records has been one of the first US labels to offer her a distribution contract. According to Brooklyn West CEO, Michael Campbell, “I’ve talked with VhanDiva’s Management and we seem to be progressing nicely. I’ve teamed up with Universal Records giving Artists the benefit of worldwide distribution.”
Likewise, European music producer and Grammy award-winner Luke Mornay, shares similar excitement, "Vhandiva is a genuine talent and someone that you want to connect to, she has a lot to offer and a ton of surprises to unveil, she’s the living proof that being real doesn't prevent you from being a Diva. Jamaica has proven over time that they have a lot of gems in store. Vhandiva is one of them! We at Mornay Music are delighted to welcome this rising star on our Afrotitude Label!" Luke feels his label is well fitted for VhanDiva’s music style because of her genre. He pointed out that, “When we think of Jamaican music, we normally think of Reggae and Dancehall. What’s unique about VhanDiva is the fact that she’s from Jamaica rapping like an American Pop Artist over a European rhythm which makes her totally versatile.”
