A recent marketing report confirms that 61% of consumers would seek an alternative website if the one they were visiting was not mobile-friendly. Neil Barrall MD of Telecoms World Plc talks about the importance of this.

Telecoms World, the UK’s leading supplier of 0800 numbers and other non-geographic numbers is advising companies to focus on mobile phone commerce in the lead up to Christmas.

Following the recent long-awaited release of the Apple iPhone 5 and the release of 4G nationwide, mobile commerce is expected to increase dramatically in the coming months. Telecoms World has always focused heavily on the latest developments in the telecoms industry and is now ensuring they are geared up to cater for the latest shift in consumer shopping trends.

Neil Barrall, Managing Director of Telecoms World said, “Shoppers no longer need to wait until they get home to place an order for what they want. With mobile in hand they can search for, shop for and enquire after any product or service that takes their fancy. Many will usually call a company the moment they find their number on their handsets and this is where we think companies need to focus their efforts. By using a number that attracts more mobile customers, businesses can really see growth this Christmas and beyond.”

A recent report by SnapHop.com revealed that 61% of consumers would seek an alternative website if the one they were visiting was not mobile-friendly. Companies should ensure their website can be viewed properly on a mobile handset and that their number can be called directly from any mobile phone without the need to enter the number manually.

A spokesperson at Telecoms World said “Digital consumerism is huge and can’t be ignored. Many consumers want to speak to somebody at a company before they place an order as its often reassuring to hear a human voice. Using a non-geographic number that offers mobile phone customers reduced-rate calls is a sensible business decision that could have huge dividends.”

“Retailers need to be flexible and focus on who and where their enquiries are coming from. If a large proportion of inbound calls are coming from mobile phone users it makes sense to use telecoms methods that attract that segment of the market like the use of 0333 numbers. We offer services that require no changes to existing phone lines, no outlay for additional equipment and no complex contracts, but which can be very attractive to potential customers.”

Telecoms World offers a range of numbers that help UK businesses to target the right markets and to attract more business both locally and on a national scale. The company offers a range of hosted call management solutions and non-geographic numbers that can benefit businesses of all types and all sizes.
