Providers of private hearing healthcare, Hidden Hearing, have responded to a new world record by a Georgian strongman. Lasha Pataraya succeeded in pulling an eight tonne truck 71ft with just his ear, in the capital of Tbilisi in Georgia.

The feat was his seventh ear related world record after previously pulling a 2.35 tonne bus for 135ft and hauling an eight tonne helicopter. Mr Pataraya, who is thirty-two and weighs 14st 11.2lb had two months to prepare for the challenge.

A spokesperson for Hidden Hearing said: “This achievement is an amazing example of the possibilities of the human ear. While we wouldn’t recommend anybody trying the challenge themselves, the weight Mr Pataraya has managed to pull with just his ear is outstanding. At Hidden Hearing, we are ear specialists and regularly keep up to date with the latest in ear and hearing research, providing information to our customers. We hope this world record will bring more attention to just how versatile the ear can be and encourage more people to look after their ears.”

With more than 40 years’ experience in treating hearing loss, Hidden Hearing is entrusted with the care of more than 100,000 people each year. The firm has 84 hearing centres across the UK, all catering for a range of needs and budgets.
