New web service lets developers automate deployments for web projects with full transparency and minimum downtime to unlimited amount of servers

With deploydo, we are taking the pain out of the deployment process by normalizing it to make it easier, faster, and more efficient for developers and web site owners.

The team behind pedigital and quintly is announcing today the launch of deploydo (http://www.deploy.do), a web-based service that aims to take the complexity out of the deployment process and make it faster, less expensive, and more efficient by automating deployments for web projects.

“From our experience of launching web projects — including our award-winning social media analytics tool, quintly — setting up custom deployment processes always took a lot of time and money. With deploydo, we are taking the pain out of the deployment process by normalizing it so that developers and web site owners can focus on their core business, rather than the technical issues of getting it up and running,” says Frederik Peiniger, one of the co-founders.”

"With our biggest project, quintly, we are running over 50 servers in the cloud and deploydo makes it easy, fast and efficient. With the strong uptake of the whole cloud hosting market we see a strong need for a product like deploydo." says Alexander Peiniger, co-founder of deploydo.

Nearly all web projects have to deploy their products/projects at some point in time to run it on a certain amount of servers in either staging or live environments. With the strong trend towards using server infrastructure in the cloud like Amazon Web Services, Rackspace or Microsoft Azure, this can get incredibly complex.

How does deploydo make it easier for developers?

  •     Unlimited servers: deploydo can take the code from git repositories and deploy it to a nearly unlimited number of servers in parallel.
  •     Full transparency: The web-based interface brings full transparency into the process by showing exactly what it does in every step. Before actually changing and updating code on the servers, deploydo will show the exact changes that are about to happen and that even in a line-by-line comparison, reducing the risk of pushing out unwanted code and bugs dramatically.
  •     Minimum downtime: deploydo is optimized to have only the minimum possible downtime. This is achieved by using multiple release folders on the target machines and switching over to the newest release right after the process is finished.

The combination of these features with a speedy setup in a few minutes makes it stand out from existing solutions. Potential users of deploydo include startups, agencies, web developers and system administrators.

deploydo launches today in public beta and anyone can sign up for the service.

We offer three pricing packages. Each package differs in the number of projects and servers that can be added. You can test each package for 14 days free of charge, without any risk and no automatic extension. In celebration of our launch, deploydo is giving the tool for free to everyone until the 31st of December 2012.
