... CNMs partner(ed) with their clients over many prenatal visits resulting in a physically, emotionally and spiritually fulfilling birth
Lake Orion, Michigan (PRWEB) December 12, 2012
Women's Excellence is pleased to announce 2 new health care providers into their Midwifery practice. Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs), Tracie Achrem and Chris Borowski, of Women’s Excellence in Midwifery are graduates from Frontier Nursing University, an accredited university ranked by US News & World Report as one of the top 50 graduate schools of nursing and top 15 for nurse-midwifery. Both Achrem and Borowski were graduates at the top of their class.
Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Chris Borowski, married and a mother of three children, is a Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society member and has been a registered nurse at Beaumont Hospital’s Labor and Delivery unit for almost twenty-years. Borowski decided to return to graduate school to specialize in midwifery and partner with other heathcare providers who treat women. After working alongside both physicians and CNMs for many years, Borowski states, “It was during my career as a Labor and Delivery nurse that I witnessed a significant difference in the patient’s experience during labor and birth when a CNM was the provider. The CNMs partnered with their clients over many prenatal visits resulting in a physically, emotionally and spiritually fulfilling birth.”
Tracie Achrem, a member of Frontier Nursing University's Honor Society, also married and a mother of three children, has been a registered nurse in labor and delivery for almost twenty years at Beaumont Hospital as well. Achrem’s decision to return to graduate school to become a CNM was the result of her desire to develop a partnership in healthcare with women and to provide them the opportunity to make important health decisions based upon providing current, evidenced-based information available for them to do so. “I have been fortunate to be present and participate with numerous laboring women that have felt empowered and extremely satisfied with their birth experience, as a result of their supportive and mutually respectful relationship with their CNM. The women that were well-informed and educated with the most up-to-date, evidenced-based information throughout their pregnancy, labor, and birth by their CNM, tended to be more positive, active participants in the decision-making process regarding their own health and the healthcare decisions of their family,” says Achrem.
