A story in which dreams of stardom lead to the realization of all the hard work and commitment along with some heartache and disappointment it takes to achieve fame and fortune.

“The Sixties and Seventies were an exciting time in America,” Steven Jordan Brooks states. “Cultural, political, social and historical changes were taking place along with attitudes toward sex, race, women’s issues, gay issues, drugs, war and the environment. These cultural shifts and changing attitudes defined a generation and influenced generations to come.” To reflect these historic times, Brooks pens his new book, “HOLLYWOOD The Band: A Tale of Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll” (published by AuthorHouse).
A musician himself, Brooks tells the story of Hollywood, a fictional rock band in the 1970s, as they navigate the entertainment industry in an attempt to procure a record deal in the midst of the storied decade while dealing with their own issues, beliefs and pasts.
“My original purpose in writing this story was to show what it takes to make it in Hollywood and to show the inner working of the music industry,” Brooks tells readers. “HOLLYWOOD The Band” explains just how it works, what it takes to be successful, and the many pitfalls that are present in trying to do so.
“It is a true Hollywood story,” Brooks explains. “A story in which dreams of stardom lead to the realization of all the hard work and commitment along with some heartache and disappointment it takes to achieve fame and fortune, and where success or failure is often a matter of talent, luck and sacrifice.”
