Comic book fans, 8 Ball, have released a new comic book t shirt depicting comic book superhero Batgirl.

The Batgirl comic book was rocked by rumours recently that writer Gail Simone was leaving the title, but she has since denied the rumours on her Tumblr page. She has been writing for Batgirl since it was re-launched in September 2011. The character also stars in the Batman crossover, Death of the Family.

Batgirl was first created in the 1960s at the request of producers of the TV series Batman. DC comics called for a new female counterpart to Batman that could be introduced into the publication and third series simultaneously. Barbara Gordon was the result, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner, James Gordon.

The woman’s t shirt is pink and features Batgirl with pink hair performing a karate chop. The officially licensed product is available in sizes small to extra extra large.

8 Ball stock a range of comic book t shirts for men and women featuring characters such as Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and The Flash.
