The support from Microsoft and the ASU Edson Initiative has made Text in Motion into a reality
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) December 11, 2012
Arizona State University Student Startup, Mercury Innovative has released its children’s app, Text in Motion, for Windows 8. Mercury Innovative creates unique language arts and analysis software for kids & their parents, educators, and researchers. The company’s Text in Motion (TIM) software makes reading and writing fun and interactive for children. The product was developed by Mercury Innovative with support through the Bizspark Plus program offered by Microsoft Corp.
Text in Motion (TIM) makes writing fun and exciting, and allows a user to watch and interact with an animated interpretation of a story. The app also includes learning links and decision points dispersed through the stories. The demo version of TIM is already available through the Windows Store, and can be found under 'Books & Reference'\'Kids'.
"The support from Microsoft and the ASU Edson Initiative has made Text in Motion into a reality. What an exciting moment to see so much hard work translate our concept into a launch of TIM into the market,” said Peter J. Wegner, founder and CEO of Mercury Innovative. “We were looking for a user-friendly way to deploy TIM on a variety of devices and Windows 8 offers the perfect environment for TIM.”
The development of TIM is a global effort with people working in several countries (USA, Canada, India, Ukraine) with the development work in the US occurring in the SkySong Innovation Center in Scottsdale and in San Francisco.
The TIM app is different from other story players because it allows kids to interact with their stories. Children can add dialogue, choose their story path, or add objects. The app was designed primarily for kids aged 4-9. The stories are accompanied by music and sounds as well as learning links, which add an educational value to stories. Users can try the product for free with two demo-stories and then buy individual stories to add to their own library.
