North Central has moved from older technology to our software, which provides an easier to use operator interface with advanced features and applications.
Mississauga, ON (PRWEB) December 18, 2012
Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for North Central Electric Cooperative, Ohio.
North Central Electric Cooperative (NCEC) is one of 24 electric cooperatives in Ohio and serves about 9,800 customers in Crawford, Hancock, Huron, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Wood and Wyandot counties. A not-for-profit electric cooperative, NCEC is owned and controlled by its members. NCEC maintains about 1,800 miles of underground and overhead power lines as well as 11 substations and one metering point.
The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, Command Sequence, Event Data Recording, IED Wizard and Control Panel, SCADA Add-In, Remote Alarm Annunciation, Master/Slave Alarm Suppression, System Configuration Status, SCADA Replicator, MultiSpeak, WebSurv, and Voltage Reduction.
“We are pleased to have North Central Electric Cooperative join our growing number of Buckeye Power members using Survalent SCADA systems,” states Steve Strauss, Vice President of Sales for the Eastern United States. “North Central has moved from older technology to our software, which provides an easier to use operator interface with advanced features and applications.”
