We’re excited to work closely with NewCore Wireless to build an LTE network that will make a true difference in the lives of so many people who desire the benefits of a mobile broadband network.

New Core Wireless, in partnership with select rural wireless operators, announced today that it has selected Ericsson to supply and implement its 4G/LTE network. Under the terms of the agreement, Ericsson will supply New Core Wireless its Evolved Packet Core LTE solution, along with its LTE radio network to New Core Wireless’ partners. New Core Wireless will work alongside Ericsson to implement this 4th generation network including network design, network roll-out and optimization. This partnership will continue after product launch with a cycle of network monitoring, analyzing, optimization and support throughout the life of the network.
In addition, New Core Wireless is also partnering with Stutler Technologies, one of the nation’s largest wireless system integrators.
The new 4G/LTE network and infrastructure will be launched April 1, 2013, building on NewCore Wireless’ existing end-to-end 3G network that was implemented in 2009. Through the deployment of 4G/LTE, New Core Wireless will provide its business partners with an enhanced fixed and mobile-broadband experience offering higher data speeds and faster access to a wide range of new innovative multimedia applications.
“Ericsson’s track record in LTE makes the perfect foundation to support NewCore Wireless and its business partners in this next-generation service,” said Albert Kangas, General Manager and COO of NewCore Wireless. “We are confident that through this collaboration, we will be able to provide our business partners with the best solutions and experiences. We believe that Ericsson’s global deployment experience will accelerate our mission of providing reliable wireless experiences to rural consumers and businesses.”
The agreement marks the beginning of a new managed services partnership between the two companies.
“Ericsson’s vision of the Networked Society includes connection for everyone, no matter where they may be located,” said Craig Stein, Head of US Regions, Broadband and Media Customer Unit for Ericsson. “We’re excited to work closely with NewCore Wireless to build an LTE network that will make a true difference in the lives of so many people who desire the benefits of a mobile broadband network.”
