Paul Goodwin and Avant Technology Propel SSD Technology.

Avant Technology maintains leadership in the high-performance storage market with their latest product introductions powered by LSI® SandForce® Flash Storage Processors (FSPs). With densities of up to 2TB in standard form factors featuring SATA, PCIe and SAS interfaces, Avant designs caught the attention of LSI Corporation, who presented Avant with the Accelerating Adoption Award during LSI’s fifth annual Accelerating Innovation Summit in San Jose, California.

The Avant engineering team has developed cutting edge SSD products using LSI SandForce FSPs for the client, cloud and enterprise market segments. LSI SandForce FSPs are in every Avant SSD from the value line all the way up to the massive 2TB 2.5” SSD featuring four LSI SandForce SF-2281 FSPs and an LSI RAID-on-Chip controller.

“Great products are made up of many ideas and components. Avant has enjoyed great success with the help of LSI.” said Paul Goodwin, Avant Technology CTO, shortly after accepting the Accelerating Adoption Award.

“The Avant Technology team has been instrumental in enabling emerging SSD manufacturers to enter the solid state storage market with their wide array of highly innovative product designs powered by LSI SandForce FSPs,” said Kent Smith, senior director of product marketing, Flash Components Division, LSI. “Avant consistently provides robust and targeted SSD solutions with their US-based design and manufacturing services teams that are key to helping their customers accelerate the adoption of SSDs into the enterprise, cloud and mobile computing markets.”
