Duncan, SC (PRWEB) December 13, 2012
His Turn Ministries, a non-profit ministry to teens and their families, is pleased to announce that they have joined several other ministries to host a Christmas banquet for inner city youth. The event will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at The Journey Church in Spartanburg.
His Turn Ministries partnered with The Journey Church in February of 2011 to reach out to inner city teens for basic discipleship and to teach life skills. The ministries, together with other churches in Spartanburg county, provide transportation to the church for "teen night" every other Sunday.
Each participant at the Christmas banquet will receive a Teen Bible as a Christmas gift. The ministries will serve turkey, dressing, macaroni and cheese and green beans from the Beacon Drive-In and servers will be volunteers from local businesses and churches.
"We have partnered with local businesses for the Christmas banquet, with "Houses and then Some" leading the efforts to raise the funds for the banquet," said Buddy Hall of His Turn Ministries. "We strive to always look for teachable moments in all we do, so we have asked the guests to dress nicer for the dinner and we plan to utilize this event to teach the inner city teens the proper way to act at a banquet. We are still looking for volunteers to help, so please give us a call if you are available!"
