Leawood, Kansas (PRWEB) December 13, 2012
On Nov. 12, 2012 the Thirsty Palette became Leawood and Overland Park’s first painting party cocktail lounge and will celebrate its official opening with a ribbon cutting on Dec. 20, 2012.
The Thirsty Palette combines people’s love of creating art while sipping on their favorite beer, wine or cocktail. And the best part – no painting experience is required.
Every Tuesday through Saturday evening, an individual painting is featured which people may sign up for at thirstypalette.com. That evening, the artist of the featured painting will demonstrate to the class stroke by stroke how to paint a near identical version of it. Once the two-hour session is complete, attendees will then have a new piece of art to take home.
The featured paintings range from a cozy snowman, to a colorful cupcake, to the KU Jayhawk, and new paintings are featured every month.
Along with the nightly sessions, the Thirsty Palette can also host private events, birthday parties for children and adults, baby showers, bachelorette parties, team-building exercises, and more. Special requests for a specific painting idea can be made for any private event.
Included in the cost of both public and private painting sessions are brushes, paints, canvases, setup, cleanup, and artist demonstration.
Co-founder Jenny Ball first came up with the idea for the Thirsty Palette when her mother took her to a painting party in Denver.
“People’s apprehensions may keep them away from something like this, but then they attend a painting party and realize they were totally wrong. That’s exactly how I felt that day in Denver, and now I own one! Anybody can paint, and you are guaranteed to have a good time and to have a new wonderful piece of art to add to your home.”
The Thirsty Palette is Johnson County, Kansas’ first amateur painting party lounge complete with a fully stocked bar. For more information about the Thirsty Palette or to schedule an interview, call 913.515.4975 or email Jenny(at)thirstypalette(dot)com.
