It truly is amazing to be able to use your God-given talent to help others. Photography is such a gift because it preserves memories and you never know when a picture of someone will be their last.

On December 8, photographers around the world, including Ashley Jones, owner at Shutter Sweet Photography, gathered for the fourth annual Help-Portrait event. In 2009, Help- Portrait began as an idea that transformed into a movement in just three months. The idea behind Help-Portrait is simple: 1. Find someone in need, 2. Take their portrait, 3. Print their portrait, and 4. Deliver their portrait.

In the last three years, 16,488 photographers and 23,984 volunteers have given more than 201,367 portraits. Help-Portrait is now a global movement in more than 1700 locations in 60 countries. The annual Help-Portrait event takes place on the second Saturday of December each year in addition to special events as the need arises – such as a natural disaster like Hurricane Sandy. Help-Portrait is always in need of donations to cover the cost of the prints and other administrative needs. Please check out http://www.help-portrait.com to learn more.

Ashley Jones was one of the main photographers at the Help-Portrait event in College Park, GA and was also responsible for editing the photos. Many families were served and people were so grateful for photos that they wouldn't be able to have otherwise. "It truly is amazing to be able to use your God-given talent to help others. Photography is such a gift because it preserves memories and you never know when a picture of someone will be their last," Ashley said when reflecting on the event, "I am looking forward to next year to provide even more portraits for people who aren't able to have the luxury of hiring a photographer for professional portraits."

In addition to donating their time and talent, Shutter Sweet Photography has their own "Photography Gives Back" program where a portion of print proceeds are donated back to a non-profit organization of the client's choice. They've donated their time for various charity events and help families in need where possible.

Shutter Sweet Photography is a photography company based in Atlanta, GA that provides a high-end wedding and portrait experience. Their team of photographers travel all over the world to capture memories and tell their client's story through photography and unique products.
