I want lives changed and transformed by the forgiving power of Christ and relationships reconciled as people actively forgive those around them.
NEWTON, Kan. (PRWEB) December 12, 2012
In his new book “Forgiveness: Our Greatest Need, Our Greatest Gift” (published by WestBow Press), author and experienced pastor Dr. George W. Mitchell stresses the importance of forgiveness in spiritual development and health.
With “Forgiveness,” Mitchell posits that in order for forgiveness to be given, a person must have experienced forgiveness deeply in his or her own life. “I do not know what forgiveness is unless I have received it,” he explains. “And only then can I give it to others.” According to him, forgiveness is often a person’s greatest need, and, in turn, their greatest gift.
An excerpt from “Forgiveness”:
“What does true forgiveness look like? Is there a transgression that I do not have to forgive? Does my forgiving someone depend upon the degree of sorrow they demonstrate for what they have done, or must I forgive them anyway? Do I have to forget what a person has done to me in order to truly forgive them? These and many other questions will be addressed in the pages of this book. Forgiveness is our greatest need and the greatest gift we can receive and give to others.”
Mitchell believes his book will help guide readers to spiritual and physical health. “I want readers to know the forgiveness of Christ in their lives and move out in that power to forgive others,” he says. “I want lives changed and transformed by the forgiving power of Christ and relationships reconciled as people actively forgive those around them.”
