Austin, TX (PRWEB) December 12, 2012
Kimbia – which provides the most powerful and flexible fundraising and event management tools for nonprofits and community foundations – today announced that the Council on Foundations has selected the company as its fundraising and marketing partner for Give Local America!, an unprecedented online, national giving event scheduled for 2014.
The Council on Foundations, the nation’s leading nonprofit association of grantmaking organizations and advocate for philanthropy, is partnering with Kimbia to produce Give Local America! to increase awareness of the important role that community foundations play in the United States, particularly in enabling donors to easily support local nonprofits and causes that matter to them. The Council also hopes to motivate more Americans to give to and through their local community foundations during the campaign and on an ongoing basis.
Give Local America! is part of The Council’s plan to recognize a century of community foundation leadership and philanthropy. 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the first U.S. community foundation, The Cleveland Foundation. More than 730 community foundations now serve communities throughout the nation, collectively granting an estimated $4.2 billion to nonprofits in 2011, according to an August 2012 report published by The Foundation Center.
Kimbia collaborated with the Council in developing the concept and plan for Give Local America! During Give Local America!, there will be multiple, simultaneous giving events occurring in local communities across the country, raising much needed funds for local organizations and driving local and social media attention to community foundations.
“We chose Kimbia as a key partner for this important event because the company has extensive experience and an impressive record of success working with community foundations,” said Teri A Hansen, Gulf Coast Community Foundation President, Council on Foundations Board Member and Community Foundations Leadership Team Chair. “We especially like the flexibility of Kimbia’s fundraising platform which sets the company apart from competitors.”
In contrast to competitive solutions, Kimbia’s fundraising platform can be branded and configured uniquely for each community foundation that participates in the giving event to help create a highly relevant and engaging experience for all donors, which is more likely to foster philanthropy.
“We’re thrilled and honored to be working with the Council on Foundations on this large and historic project,” said Dan Gillett, CEO, Kimbia. “Kimbia is a great fit for The Council. We already work with dozens of community foundations, improving their programs for fundraising, disaster relief and nonprofit capacity building.”
