“The HydraFlock® swab is a high-performance product and we’ve always believed that our manufacturing process is unlike any other. It is great to have these beliefs affirmed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office." - Timothy Templet, Puritan EVP of Sales.

Puritan Medical Products Co., LLC, an American manufacturer of single-use medical products for the global market, will be awarded a United States patent for its high-performance HydraFlock® swab on Dec. 18, 2012.
Puritan’s latest U.S. patent (No. 8334134) is both for inventing the innovative HydraFlock® product itself as well as for the unique manufacturing method involved. Puritan’s HydraFlock® swab produces superior sample collection, rapid elution, and increased test sensitivity by combining a unique microstructure with innovative fibers.
Puritan was previously awarded a Canadian patent for the HydraFlock® swab as a product and for the manufacturing process in September. Patents for the HydraFlock® swab also are pending in other countries throughout the world.
“The HydraFlock® swab is a high-performance product and we’ve always believed that our manufacturing process is unlike any other,” said Puritan Executive Vice President of Sales Timothy Templet. “It is great to have these beliefs affirmed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. We look forward to obtaining patents in other countries and to bringing this product line to new markets and competing globally.”
