Remember The Miners is pleased to announce its partnership with The Greenbrier Classic’s Badges for Charity Program for the third consecutive year.

Funds passed through Badges for Charity are generated by the purchase of badges for The Greenbrier Classic, the PGA tournament July 1-7, 2013 at the historic Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. All badges include weekly access to the tournament grounds, complimentary parking and concert tickets. Previous musical acts have included Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, the Black Eyed Peas, Toby Keith, Rod Stewart, Lionel Richie, The Fray and Bon Jovi.

"I'm grateful for Remember The Miners involvement in this year's Badges for Charity Program,” began Greg Darby, President of Little General Stores. “We look forward to working with the Greenbrier and promoting another great Greenbrier Classic amongst members of West Virginia's mining community."

Jason Parsons, President of Remember The Miners, added, "For the past two years, Remember The Miners has been part of the Greenbrier Classic's Badges for Charity program. We look forward to another great year and remain as grateful as ever to the Greenbrier Classic and Mr. Jim Justice for their support of our organization.”

Fans purchasing tickets can designate Remember The Miners as their ‘charity of choice’; in turn, the Greenbrier will donate a portion of the ticket proceeds to Remember The Miners.

Parsons continued, “We want folks who support coal and our miners to know by designating Remember The Miners and purchasing your tickets through the Badges for Charity program, it doesn’t cost you any more but you are helping our organization because the Greenbrier will donate a portion of the ticket price to Remember The Miners. So if you’re planning to attend the Classic, buy your tickets through Badges for Charity and help us award more scholars and further our mission of raising awareness of the good and important work of the men and women of the coal industry."

Ticket sales being December 15th, 2012, and can be found through the Greenbrier Classic’s website.

Proceeds from Badges for Charity will benefit the Remember The Miners Scholars Program. The Scholars Program was created in partnership with the West Virginia Coal Foundation to support families of the West Virginia mining community. Awardees of the scholarship are miners, dependents of coal industry workers, or students pursuing a career in the mining industry. In 2012, Remember The Miners awarded 19 scholarships ranging from $1,250 to $10,000 to families across West Virginia.
