On December 18, collection agency Rapid Recovery Solution comments on an article published by Kirtov.com which highlights the aggressive debt collection tactics of a Seattle debt collector.
According to Kirtov.com, a Seattle debt collector has been accused of stealing wages. The article states, “A local debt collector who state investigators said ‘deliberately and intentionally steals workers’ wages’ has a new business, apparently registered under an alias.” Kirtov.com reports that the debt collector has opened numerous debt collection agencies. These agencies, the article states, have been investigated and ultimately fined for not paying employees their wages.
Using an alias, the debt collector would run his agencies while not paying his employees. In addition to wage issues, the article states, “The Better Business Bureau says both companies have generated very similar complaints about aggressive debt collection practices.”
John Monderine, the CEO of a Long Island based collection agency called Rapid Recovery Solution, responds to the news. “It’s tactics like these that truly gives debt collection a bad name,” says Monderine. “When issues such as these arise, it makes things difficult for collection agencies that don’t use aggressive methods. People need to understand that not all collection agencies use aggressive tactics.”
The article reports that the collection agencies run by the debt collector have been investigated and fined for not paying their employees. In addition to lack of payment, the collection agencies run by the debt collector are similar as they have both been complained about to the BBB and, according to the article, “[the] letterhead for both businesses is incredibly similar.”
