AutoManager Adds Important Upgrades to Latest DeskManager Release

AutoManager, Inc. announced Wednesday that a new version of its popular dealer management software is available for download.

DeskManager 11.93 expands on the capabilities of its predecessors with improved profit calculations, universal date/time settings and an important new tool for managing flooring costs.

Dealers who use a revolving line of credit to finance their inventory, also known as “flooring,” can now use DeskManager to effectively manage their flooring balances. The schedule upon which these flooring payments are made is known as a “curtailment” schedule. DeskManager 11.93’s new Curtailment screen is a comprehensive dashboard for keeping track of payment schedules, interest and fees.

AutoManager CEO Kami Tafreshi said Curtailment addresses a common challenge for small- to medium-size independent dealerships that many competing DMS products overlook. “To us, providing a complete software solution means considering everything a dealer might conceivably need,” Tafreshi said. “This is something our clients asked for, and we’re excited to deliver it.”

The latest software update also includes an overhaul of DeskManager’s date and time system. For the first time, dealers will be able to use international time formats when documenting deals, payments and countless other events. DeskManager 11.93 automatically translates these numbers into whichever format is used by your computer.

“As more dealers outside the United States have adopted DeskManager, particularly our friends in Canada, it has become necessary for us to develop a truly international product,” Tafreshi said. “Clock settings might be a novelty on your home computer, but in auto sales, they have a crucial impact on the history of every deal, customer record and inventory item.”

According to Tafreshi, DeskManager 11.93 is also notable for its improved profit calculations. Any fee that can be added in DeskManager’s the Deal/Trade screen can now be reflected in the profit report. It’s also possible to divide a single expense across multiple vehicles, either equally or in specific portions.
