Cecchi Gori Pictures, the company behind such Oscar-winning classics as “Life is Beautiful,” “Il Postino,” and “Mediterraneo.” as well as US productions like "A Bronx Tale" and "Carlito's Way,” has entered into an exclusive international distribution deal with Daro Film in Monaco. Daro will handle all sales outside of the United States for VOD, TV & all other channels of distribution for Cecchi Gori’s extensive titles of owned & licensed films.
Niels Juul, CEO of Cecchi Gori Pictures, says, “We have known Pierre Rochat & his team at Daro for a number of years, and they have consistently outperformed any other distributor we have worked with internationally. With their solid footprint in all European markets, as well as Africa & Asia, we wanted to solidify our relationship with this long-term exclusive agreement & maximize the return on our acclaimed library.”
Cecchi Gori Pictures has recently completed a major restructuring after a three-year successful litigation against Vittorio Cecchi, Gori’s former business partner, which garnered the company an almost 18 million dollar judgment (court case number BC390245). Having regained all their previously lost assets, the company is now profitable and focusing their efforts on getting traction to their many owned scripts & book rights. In 2009 Juul and his recovery firm Nofatego were brought in to revitalize the company while simultaneously steering them through the legal victory.
