BOCA RATON, FL (PRWEB) December 13, 2012
American Traveler, an experienced travel nursing agency, awarded the Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission, is proud to offer registered nurses, travel nurses and travel therapy professionals the chance to participate in its first healthy recipe contest.
“In every field, and especially in healthcare, it’s important to maintain a healthy BMI and weight; it shows you are taking excellent care of yourself, to ensure you’re capable of doing the same for your patients,” said American Traveler Clinical Account Manager, Deb Bacurin, RN.
The goal of the healthy recipe contest is to incite healthcare professionals everywhere, along with members of the American Traveler team to manage and prevent illness, in part by preparing nutritious daily meals which helps immune systems remain strong; and that coupled with regular exercise, is the best recipe of all for a healthy career and lifestyle.
The Healthy Career Recipe Blog will feature weekly recipes for nutritious and savory entrées, flavorful veggie side dishes, low fat desserts and more. The first recipe featured is from a corporate American Traveler employee, who draws from a repertoire of healthy recipes that she looks forward to sharing throughout the contest.
The possibility of winning prizes serves to underscore that goal. American Traveler encourages working healthcare professionals to enter the contest today by sending healthy recipes and, if you wish, your picture, to recipes(at)healthy-careers(dot)americantraveler(dot)com.

Said Bacurin: “This is more than a contest. It’s a health initiative that makes us think before we eat, and feel better for doing it. As nurses, therapists and caregivers, it’s our responsibility to set a good example for patients who imbibe a healthy lifestyle.”
