Author VJ Parker invites her readers to return to a realm of magic and mystery in ‘Secondrey’s Tale,’ the sequel to her epic adventure, ‘Rowanlee.’ In this fantasy novel, they will reunite with Rowanlee to visit the land of Aaraniria, where they will meet great kings and queens, and join unique heroes as they quest to save the kingdom and its inhabitants.
The story begins when Rowanlee gives birth with the assistance of her husband, Eagle. The celebration of their baby’s arrival is cut short when Rowanlee tells her husband, and the hierarchy of the palace, that an unknown entity has summoned her to Aaraniria. After much debate, it is decided that Eagle will accompany her, while the king and queen care for her newborn child.
When they arrive at Aaraniria, they meet a snow wolf, who leads them to his den, where his mate lies near death. While Rowanlee tends to the she-wolf, she sends Eagle out to see if there is any problem with the land. While Eagle is away, trappers arrive at the den, intent on killing the wolves for their coat, but Rowanlee tries to fend them off. She is unable to repulse them on her own and is on the verge of being overcome, when Eagle arrives in the nick of time to dispatch the trappers.
The next day, a visitor named Secondrey arrives, and tells Rowanlee and Eagle a tale of how the kings of old summoned the Sharman to restore the balance of the land. He speaks of the pillars of power, which are controlled by a mysterious catalyst, and the person who first wielded the catalyst. Moved by this tale, Rowanlee and Eagle agree to help Secondrey heal the land and the animals, and learn the power to travel through space and time in order to pursue their quest.
Together, the three heroes must save Aaraniria from the mysterious plague in ‘Secondrey’s Tale.’ This fantastic adventure will captivate readers from the first page to the very last.
