Rep. Liias, a Universal Life Church minister since April 2011, will officiate a wedding in West Seattle for a gay couple at 11 a.m. on Dec. 15.

The Universal Life Church Monastery reports that two of Referendum 74’s most outspoken supporters, State Senator Ed Murray and State Representative Marko Liias, will attend its “December to Remember” gay wedding event on Saturday, Dec. 15. This celebration of marriage equality will be held at The Sanctuary at Admiral, a historical landmark in West Seattle, and will provide free weddings for 15 couples between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Rep. Liias, a Universal Life Church minister since April 2011, will officiate a wedding for a gay couple at 11 a.m. Sen. Murray plans on attending December to Remember during the morning. Between the couples, their guests, and members of the public, over 400 people are expected to attend this event.
Couples and their guests will be able to enjoy The Sanctuary’s speakeasy-themed bar after their weddings with no-host catered meals, drinks, music, dancing, and a photo booth.
18 sponsors have partnered with the ULC Monastery to donate the wedding cake, flowers, photography, and music that will be used at December to Remember - all of which will be provided for the couples at no cost. These sponsors include The Stranger, Metropolitan Market, Althauser Design, Foodz Catering, 1-800-Flowers, Baked Cakes, and J. Tobiason Photography.
