Winning this award is great recognition, not only for me and Hartford Homes, but for all the team behind what is an outstanding new development

Dominic McGreevy, site manager at Hartford Homes luxury Royal Buildings development in Onchan, has every reason to smile having seen off UK-wide competition to win one of the industry’s most prestigious ‘Pride in the Job’ awards.
These highly coveted accolades from the National House Building Council (NHBC) are awarded to the top 30 site managers. Dominic’s award recognises his commitment to quality and exceptional standards achieved in every aspect of work on the Royal Buildings development of 29 two-bedroom apartments and an office suite.
“Winning this award is great recognition, not only for me and Hartford Homes, but for all the team behind what is an outstanding new development for both Onchan and the Isle of Man,” said Dominic, who was selected from 13,000 site managers across the UK.
He added: “The development included the refurbishment of the arts and crafts building and Hartford Homes worked closely with the Planning Department to arrive at a design which would sit comfortably alongside this building. Development in this very tight and central location was itself challenging and dealing with an historic building added to the challenge that the team faced.”
Judges for the awards, as well as carrying out spot checks of the day-to-day running of the site, assess each site manager across 38 areas of site management, including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process, leadership and organisational skills.
The development was completed in May this year with only four apartments still available.
