Florida State University Credit Union of Tallahassee supports CU4Kids, a division of the Children's Miracle Network, with a large monetary donation.

Florida State University Credit Union, a full service financial cooperative in Tallahassee, Florida, is pleased to announce their support of the Children's Miracle Network. The credit union recently raised over $7,000 for the CU4Kids program, a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions and business partners from across the country that engage in fundraising activities to benefit 170 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

The funds were raised through a marketing promotion that allowed credit union members to skip a loan payment in exchange for a $10 donation to CU4Kids. The donated money helps fund hospital equipment, research, special patient needs and health education for children. The funds raised with this promotion will go towards services at the Shands Hospital for Children at the University of Florida in Gainsville and will directly benefit the children and families in need of services provided by the Children's Miracle Network within the local area.

"Through direct financial support or other in-kind contributions to worthwhile local organizations, and by participating in public service activities, Florida State University Credit Union strives to be an active partner in our community," said Harmony Nagy of FSU Credit Union. "We recognize that practicing good corporate citizenship supports the Credit Union Philosophy of "People Helping People."

FSU Credit Union staff says that its charitable efforts also help raise the overall level of social and economic well being of those in our community, help to strengthen ties within the community and better position the credit union to reach out and serve those people in greatest need of affordable financial services.

More than 17 million children benefit annually from the donations raised by CU4Kids program. FSU Credit Union will continue supporting CU4Kids in the future, with employee Stephen Taylor chairing the CU4Kids Dance Marathon, which will be held in Tallahassee, Florida in the Spring 2013.
