Stuart, FL (PRWEB) December 13, 2012
In October, Attorney Mike Crary helped secure funds on behalf of the Frances Langford Foundation as one of the three groups to make $100,000 contributions to the Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) Clinic for their annual fundraising gala. This was accomplished with the help of co-trustees of the foundation, Evans Crary, Jr. and Josh Turner, with careful consideration. They decided that they wanted to make the gift for VIM as a “Patriot’s Dream Sponsor” for the 2013 gala. The theme of this year’s fundraiser is called “America the Beautiful” and will be held at the Mariner Sands Country Club in South Florida on January 26, 2013. The VIM clinic was established in South Carolina in 1992 as a means of offering health care to those who were unable to afford it financially.
VIM is a completely volunteer service based organization; during the beginning phases of the clinic, many retired physicians, dentists and nurses began showing their interests for giving back to their community in this fashion. VIM was a perfect fit for many of these retired medical professionals as they still wanted to practice their profession, only on a more part time level – which made the VIM Clinic perfect for them.
VIM is a clinic that upholds high standards of ethics in their medical practice, while at the same time offering the medical treatment to individuals who otherwise cannot afford it. This clinic runs on very limited resources, which is why their annual fundraisers are so crucial for the functioning of their clinics. Attorney Mike Crary, with Crary Buchanan, truly believes in this cause and offers his support to the clinic by donating a very large sum of money. Out of VIM’s 13 years of practice, it is believed that this year they will be able to reach the $500,000 mark in their fundraising efforts, which would be the first time ever in their history.
The VIM Clinic highly relies on this annual fundraiser, as nearly half of their yearly budget is taken from these funds that are brought in. Attorney Mike Crary is currently a member of The Friends of Volunteers in Medicine (FVIM) on their board of directors, currently as their secretary. This of group of board members is essentially the arm of fundraising on behalf of the clinic. Co-chair board member, Joe Day has put forward a lot of effort into this fundraising gala, and this is the first time in 13 years that the event has sold out.
As a result, they have decided to establish a waiting list for their guests; an encouraging detail to those who pour out their time and efforts for the patients of VIM. In the future, the goal of the FVIM Board is to raise their annual budget to $1 million; this year is the first time they are aiming for over half their eventual goal. The members of the FVIM Board are dedicated to the people of the community seeing to it that they have the necessary medical treatments available that they otherwise would not be able to receive.
