HIT THE SLOPES
Hotel Jerome, an Auberge Resort in Aspen, Colo. will reopen its doors after a comprehensive five-month enhancement on December 14, 2012. The redesign of the 93-room hotel will balance authenticity and preservation with luxury, ushering the 19th century landmark into the 21st century. In addition to the extensive treatment on the guestrooms and suites, the renovation will introduce new public spaces, such as a lobby bar and a spacious living room, a new Auberge spa and a completely re-envisioned restaurant. The Jerome will reemerge as the heart of the winter playground that is Aspen.

Winter packages include the Adventure Package, a three-night stay in a Deluxe King with a snowshoe tour and lunch for two and dog sledding followed by a three-course dinner for two. ($3,095)

Located in the spectacular mountain destination of Telluride, Colo., The Auberge Residences at Element 52 are nestled at the base of the mountain along the banks of the San Miguel River and within walking distance of town. The club offers 33 two- to- five bedrooms and offers a slopeside, ski-in/ski-out location with a private ski lift, as well as a private clubroom for après ski and underground heated parking.

The Auberge Residences at Pronghorn in Bend, Ore. provides the finest one- to three- bedroom luxury accommodations and amenities in Central Oregon. Pronghorn is set within one of the oldest juniper forests in the world, offering a stunning panoramic view of the Cascade Mountains. With some of the best snow in the Pacific Northwest, Mt. Bachelor is one of the premier destinations for skiers and snowboarders. The Pronghorn Club offers daily shuttles to and from Mt. Bachelor, and with each 3-day adult pass, a child 12 and under skis for free.

BASK ON THE BEACH
Esperanza in Los Cabos, Mexico, is perched on the bluffs of majestic Punta Ballena overlooking the azure Sea of Cortez at the tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. In addition to enjoying the private beach, Mexican fiestas, full-service spa and fitness classes, guests may enjoy the sea life native to the Sea of Cortez with winter-season experiences, such as swimming with whale sharks and whale-watching. Created exclusively for Esperanza guests, these programs give visitors of all ages an up-close look at the local sea life, along with culinary delights and luxurious transportation, for an exciting day of ocean exploration.
This winter season, guests have the option to swim with whale sharks; spotter planes, boats and expert guides will navigate guests through the waters outside of La Paz to popular feeding grounds where they may swim with the whale sharks that measure up to 40 feet and watch these gentle giants feed on plankton. This eight-hour trip includes roundtrip ground transportation to La Paz, an authentic Mexican breakfast, lunch and snacks prepared by Esperanza, wet suit and snorkel equipment as well as underwater photography and videography upon request. The swimming with whale sharks adventure at Esperanza is $325 per person.

ENJOY THE SOUTH’S QUIET BEAUTY
Winter days are cool, crisp and sunny on the pristine shores of the May River at Palmetto Bluff, a 20,000- acre resort community located on the largest remaining waterfront property on the East Coast. The Auberge Spa at Palmetto Bluff, built in the gracious style of a Southern manor home, is located on a private island adjacent to the Inn. The Inn at Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, S.C. also features an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course as well as tennis, bocce and croquet courts at the Wilson Lawn and Racquet Club.

INDULGE IN NAPA VALLEY
Auberge Resorts’ flagship property, Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley, Calif., received the Hall of Fame recognition in this year’s Travel + Leisure “World’s Best Awards” for having made the list for a solid decade, a new award for the annual compendium.The recently unveiled Maison Calais La Plage will celebrate its first winter; the approach to the four-room maison redesign enhances the luxurious and tranquil haven-away-from-home Auberge experience.

Also new: the Maison d’Arbre private dining room, which provides a warm and elegant private-dining atmosphere to accompany the Michelin-starred restaurant’s culinary offerings. The aptly named new dining area rests above the famed restaurant seemingly in the trees where guests enjoy the inn’s most spectacular panoramic views of the Napa Valley.

Auberge du Soleil offers the exclusive Cabernet Season package which celebrates the experiences that make Napa Valley one of the world’s ultimate destinations. Starting at $1054 per couple, the package includes a one night stay in a Garden Room, complete with a bottle of the Auberge du Soleil Cabernet Reserve, a four-course dinner for two in the Michelin-starred restaurant paired with a flight of 3 premium Napa Valley Cabernets, complimentary breakfast, and a VIP private tour and tasting at the nearby organic and biodynamic winery, Quintessa.

Calistoga Ranch in Calistoga, Calif. is nestled on 157 acres just outside the historic town of Calistoga in a secluded Napa Valley canyon among ancient oaks and pines, a rock-hewn stream, private lake and vineyard. Each fall, Calistoga Ranch offers a unique chance to help harvest the grapes from the property’s very own vineyard.
