Greenville, SC (PRWEB) December 17, 2012
Powdersville First Baptist Church and Connection Fellowship have joined together in an effort to minister to the needs of local homeless brothers and sisters in the Greenville area. Over the past months, they have been going out on Saturday mornings and have provided food, blankets and coats to many in the community who are living on the streets and in the fields. There have been times when as few as 3 or 4 have been served, but there have also been times when there have been more than 40!
It is the hope of Powdersville First Baptist and Connection Fellowship to have businesses (or individuals) in the Powdersville area join them by sponsoring a monthly Saturday to provide a meal to this little homeless community that is in need of help and feeling the love of Christ. For example, if these churches could get a commitment that the first Saturday of each month, Business A will provide 40 sausage and egg biscuits, and then on the second Saturday of the month, Business B will provide 8 pizzas, etc, then this process will be a success. Even if participants would like to contribute the needed supplies to allow them to make a large batch of chili, or a bakery who would supply muffins or donuts, what a wonderful blessing that would be!
In the past couple of weeks, the two congregations have already seen where some of the homeless individuals have been reunited with family and have been provided jobs and shelter which has removed them from the streets....praise God for His provisions in their lives!
There are several individuals within the two churches that have a strong desire to see this become a fruitful, continuous outreach and are willing to lead the effort. All that is needed is the financial and material support in order to be able to touch the lives of those who need a helping hand....a hand to help them up!
Powdersville Self Storage wholeheartedly has agreed to help in this effort for “feeding the hungry”. We challenge others in our surrounding community to join hands with us and help alleviate hunger from the streets of Greenville.
