Gloucester, Va. (PRWEB) December 13, 2012
Chesapeake Marine Training Institute is opening its one-day Elementary First Aid and CPR class on December 21 and January 18 to both professional mariners and the general public.
The course is regularly $125. These sessions will be offered for $100 each.
Professional mariners taking the course will still meet their first aid and CPR training requirement to receive an original U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner’s license or satisfy other training needs.
“This course is of value to anyone who needs basic first aid and CPR training,” said Chesapeake Marine Training Institute President, Capt. Guy Sorensen. “We’re proud to host students who may or may not operate vessels on the water. This is about safety and being prepared for situations on land or sea.”
The Elementary First Aid and CPR course is divided into three sections that cover how to respond to an emergency, adult CPR and basic first aid. Practical examinations are included for both CPR and first aid.
The course is limited to 16 students. Register online at http://www.chesapeakemarineinst.com. Pre-registration is required.
Both courses will be held at the Chesapeake Marine Training Institute’s campus in Hayes, Va. Additionally, CMTI instructors can also schedule this course and bring it off campus. Contact Chesapeake Marine Training Institute for details.
