fishbat, Inc. COO Scott Darrohn comments in the latest ‘fishbat Splash’ video press release episode about two smartphone apps that make networking and maintaining business contacts a little easier.

On December 17, 2012, online marketing company fishbat, Inc. launched a new video press release discussing two new smartphone apps for business networking.

In the new edition of fishbat Inc.’s video press release series ‘fishbat Splash’, host and fishbat COO Scott Darrohn spoke about two new smartphone networking apps that should prove quite useful to the tech-savvy businessperson.

The first, CardMunch, is a new app for the iPhone. It can convert traditional paper business cards into digital contacts by scanning text from photographs of business cards taken on the user’s phone. Hovering the phone over a business card, the app detects when the card is in range. It even features a Multishot mode to submit a stack of cards en masse. CardMunch also features a CardFlow Rolodex display, single-tap LinkedIn invites, a contacts search feature and advanced image capture technology. “Because LinkedIn owns CardMunch, all the information and pictures from the contact's professional [LinkedIn] profile will appear on your iPhone,” comments Darrohn. “This gives users a detailed background on the new contact, which a paper business card obviously cannot do.”

Bump, a new app for the iPhone and Android phones, allows users to exchange contact information by “bumping” their phones together. The app uses the phones' sensors to "feel" the bump, retrieves the phones’ contact profiles and exchanges them. The app also makes photo-sharing as simple as bumping the two phones together. Even better, users can also “bump” photos to any computer. Darrohn says that “this makes ‘bumping’ into strangers a little less awkward, and a little more effective.”

“Social media has revolutionized the way businesses advertise and network,” comments Darrohn. “This goes for business cards as well. People have thrown away the cumbersome Rolodex and digitalized their biz contacts.”
