KG (FAM Germany), in conjunction with Niagara Worldwide has announced the site redevelopment, orderly sale and reuse of select processes of the former CHOREN Gasification Plant in Freiberg, Germany. The CHOREN 7 acre Beta Gasification Plant was used in sustainable CO2 neutral fuel production from organic feedstock. The plant was decommissioned in 2011; much of the equipment is less than 2 years old, some of which was brand new and never installed. Details on the systematic redevelopment of the CHOREN Plant will be available the first of January 2013. FAM Germany welcomes any interested partners, project ideas or partnership concepts that could utilized the CHOREN Gasification Plant or equipment. “Based on early interest in the plant’s prime location and advanced technology, site re-use is imminent”, said Eric J Spirtas, President of Niagara Worldwide, the company selected to manage the site assets and redevelopment of the facility, “With the availability of incentives and the renewable credits found in Germany and around the world, it is as if there is a spotlight on this type of plant, land and equipment.
