Elkin's new story is parody of all the holly, jolly Christmas movies shown with gross regularity on the Hallmark Channel at this time of year.

Bard and Book Publishing announces the release of “A Very Merry Cliché For Christmas”, a new story written by Bard and Book author Derek Elkins. Elkins was also the first place winner of the Athanatos Christian Ministry 2012 Novel Contest for his book “Life Unworthy of Life”.

"I was watching the Hallmark Channel and found that most every Christmas movie had some serious clichés in common. I thought to myself that I could do just as well or, at the very least come up with a decent parody of the genre," says Elkins. "So, I wrote a parody of a Christmas story," he adds. The story revolves around Holly Clause, a Big City executive being called back to her small hometown because of the death of her mother. Soon, she is pairing off against the town's grinch, one O. M. Potter. The sparks and insanity begin to fly as Holy comes up with a scheme to win back Christmas from the old miser.

Elkins is also the author of other works through Bard and Book Publishing, including: "How To Take Over the World and Enslave Mankind Using Common Household Items, Book One: Your Own Personal Undead Army", "The Trouble with Bricks", "Bedlam’s Door", "Three Conversations" and others.

“A Very Merry Cliché For Christmas” is available for download at Smashwords where Bard and Book members can download for free with a 100% off coupon.
