Shawnee Peak opens for it's 75th Season.

Current conditions are fun, firm and fast.

Grab the skis and snowboards, Shawnee Peak has opened for the 2013 season. The family-owned resort currently has several trails open and is in the process of opening several more by next week.

"If the weather cooperates, we could have all trails open after that big snow storm hits Sunday. In the meantime, current conditions are fun, firm and fast," says Shawnee Peak General Manager, Ed Rock.

This year also marks the mountain's 75th anniversary. To honor the milestone, Shawnee Peak will host a gala event on January 12, that will include a celebratory dinner and fireworks. For ticket information on that special event go to
